Beautiful Sites

After a visit to the beach, it's hard to believe that we live in a material world. If there's a heaven for me, I'm sure it has a beach attached to it. Every time we walk along a beach some ancient urge disturbs us so that we find ourselves shedding shoes and garments or scavenging among seaweed and whitened timbers like the homesick refugees of a long war. I honestly think the beach is the only place children actually entertain themselves.   I could never stay long enough on the shore; the tang of the untainted, fresh, and free sea air was like a cool, quieting thought. Stop Caring About These Things: 1. What others think Dance to your own beat. Act dumb. Do whatever you have to but don’t take on board what others think. It’s your life, your decisions and choices. Others love to judge, and why should you care if they do? Only you define yourself, so let them be amused if it makes them happy. When you care too much about that others will say, you live your life for them and not yourself. 2. Past mistakes We all make mistakes and mess up in life. That’s just how life goes. Don’t be hard on yourself, though. Accept that everyone gets it wrong sometimes; it’s part of the human condition. You really are allowed to cut yourself some slack. Learn to forgive yourself more often. 3. Failure The big “F” word that everyone fears. It doesn’t have to be a scary concept, though. Ultimately, it depends on your attitude to failure. If you see failure as not being perfect, you’re going to be permanently miserable. A more realistic idea of failu...

EIGHT WAYS TO KEEP YOUR BEACH HOUSE CLEAN

Step 1. Keep tools and materials at beach house To make maintenance easier, keep your cleaning tools and other materials at the beach house. That way, you’ve always got everything handy when you need it. Step 2. Mulch your garden You can keep your garden healthy while you’re not around with a good quality mulch. A nice thick layer stops weeds from growing, prevents soil erosion, adds nutrients, and it looks good. It also retains moisture in the soil to keep your plants moist while you’re away. When using it, make sure you wear gloves and a dust mask. Step 3. Get rid of cobwebs It’s also a good idea to give your house a once over with a cobweb broom. This will keep the spiders from getting inside your place while you’re away. If there are any areas that you can’t reach, then give them a spray with your water blaster. It’ll also get rid of any salt around the house or any build-up from the weather. Step 4. Clean and oil your deck If you have a deck, give the floor and any rai...
